Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 the day of event at the Kate Jackson Community Center and are available by clicking here. Tour tickets will be available for purchase at regular price at the bakery the day of the event. Advance sale price will be honored up until Saturday, Dec. 3. Your name will be put on the list…and wristbands will be picked up at the registration table the day of the event.

The Old Hyde Park Garden Tour continues a long-running series of successful home and kitchen tours that have invited the community into one of Tampa’s most charming and historic neighborhoods. Bronze trail markers located on the sidewalk mark every mile and half mile along your way. Attendees stroll around Hyde Park and enjoy one of Tampa’s original neighborhoods, where renovated and restored homes date back to the early 1900’s. The Home Tour is the major fundraiser for our neighborhood and has helped to fund many major preservation, beautification, and maintenance projects in our community. Hillsborough County also offers a variety of magnet school options. Magnet schools each have a curriculum focus, such as engineering, performing arts and International Baccalaureate, just to name a few.

Wondering why Swann and Rome Avenues are wider than their narrower neighboring streets? The street car line used to run down these two thoroughfares. A portion of the proceeds from the tour will be allocated to various HHPNA neighborhood causes, including the enhancement of our cultural assets and architectural treasures. Our signature project will be the restoration of the original "school house" doors of the Old Hyde Park Art Center. Advance ticket holders will need to exchange their tickets or vouchers for a Tour-ID wrist band, that all walkers will need to enter the homes, at the Bern¹s Steak House parking lot location the day of the tour. There, you will also receive a booklet with information about the homes and map for the walking tour.
Our neighborhood boundaries are Rome Avenue, Swann Avenue, and Bayshore Boulevard. The 2022 Historic Hyde Park Homes Tour will be held on Sunday, November 13th from 11 am to 5 pm. This annual event draws visitors from all over Central Texas to learn about the history of the neighborhood and tour some of the homes that make Hyde Park unique. Tucked within the city limits of Tampa is Hyde Park, a historic neighborhood that evokes the feeling of old Florida with its historic homes and bungalows. The first houses here were built in the 1880s and the area expanded rapidly.

As always, the funds we raise will support historic preservation efforts within Historic Hyde Park Neighborhood. The historic, Hyde Park is a fashionable neighborhood located south of downtown within walking distance to Tampa Bay. Hyde Park Village, otherwise known as the neighborhood hub, is a picturesque setting. Upscale, outdoor, retail shops and professional service boutiques, circle around the village’s magnificent fountain. Lip-smacking aromas fill the air from the several restaurants in the village each offering classic quality food with a creative, yet authentic taste. Outdoor events such as fresh markets and seasonal celebrations, offer a sense of community where families can gather to make memories, as well as new friends.

Relax and read a book on one of the park’s many benches. This year’s tour features a walking tour of historic Dobyville – Tampa’s historic Black community at the turn of the 20th century. Though much has been lost to development, a significant portions remains and we are working to protect and preserve it. The tour will be led by Rodney Kite-Powell, author and curator at the Tampa Bay History Center.

The HHPNA is a civic association rather than a homeowners association. We do not enforce deed restrictions, which to a large degree are absent from property originally developed between the late 1880s and the 1930s. The neighborhood is part of, and supports, the City of Tampa’s Hyde Park Historic District. Exterior rehabilitation, additions and new construction are subject to compliance with the Hyde Park Design Guidelines and the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation and Guidelines for Rehabilitating Historic Buildings.
